What this site collects, why it collects it, and what you can ask for. It is short because the site does very little with your information.

Who runs this site

This site is run by djinn, a DJ and producer based in the United Kingdom. For anything on this page, write to booking@djinn-og.co.uk.

What is collected

If the booking form is switched on and you send a message, the site stores the name, email address and message you type, along with the date you sent it. That is all it keeps. It does not store your IP address with the message.

The web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and for finding faults. These are held by the hosting provider and are deleted in the normal course of running the server.

The site counts how many times each page is opened, so that the owner can see how busy it is. A count is a page name and a time, nothing more. It does not record your IP address, it does not set a cookie for it, and it cannot be linked back to you or to any other page you visited. The counting happens on this server, so no analytics company is involved.

Beyond that there is no tracking, no advertising and no profiling. Nobody is followed around the internet because of a visit here.

Why it is collected

A message you send is used to reply to you and to keep a record of the enquiry. The lawful basis is legitimate interests, namely answering someone who has asked to be contacted. Server logs are kept for the security and reliability of the site.

How long it is kept

Enquiries are kept while they are useful, and deleted on request at any time. Server logs are short lived and rotate automatically.

Who else sees it

The site is hosted by Try My Site, which necessarily processes the data in order to run the server. Beyond that there are no third parties at all. The typefaces, the player and everything else are served from this site, so your browser is never asked to contact anybody else. Nothing is shared, and nothing is sold.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to booking@djinn-og.co.uk and it will be dealt with. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
